So my friend Liz and i enjoy a nice seltzer from time to time. Very refreshing. So it came as no surprise to anyone that when the Bud Light Seltzer Flannel Pack came out, were gonna get all over that! It was actually her spouse Jerrett who spied a pack and picked one up for the big taste test. The pack comes with four flavors: Toasted Marshmallow, Apple Crisp, Maple Pear and of course Pumpkin Spice.
First up. Toasted Marshmallow
If you enjoy swigging a beverage that tastes like well…..fake….then toasted marshmallow is for you. It is just sweet and flavorless. Reminds me of someone you don’t like, but don’t dislike either. Just very unincidental.
Next up, Apple Crisp
I will say the apple crisp was not the worst in the pack. The flavor of apple was indeed present and the flavor overall was well rounded. Would i buy a whole pack of just apple crisp? No. But if i was offered one, i would not turn it down. Probably the best flavor in the pack.
Next up, Maple Pear
Well this particular seltzer was invented by someone who enjoys creating misery for others. The overwhelming flavor of fake maple is only worsened by the rotten pear aftertaste. This seltzer is so bad we had a couple leftover and they did not make it to the fridge, rather the dumpster. I know it’s alcohol abuse but trust me, you don’t want this guy anywhere near the good stuff because the mere presence of this seltzer will taint everything else in your fridge. Including the dairy drawer.
Finally, Pumpkin Spice
Well this one i was most excited about because is do love everything pumpkin. At first taste, it wasn’t bad…It wasn’t good….but not the worst in the pack. It does taste indeed like “pumpkin spice” but the longer you drink it, the more the artificial flavors “bloom” and if it gets even slightly warm, it is almost undrinkable and actually becomes kind of thick on the palate.
So to summarize the Flannel Pack tasting, i would say to well….don’t do it. Not one flavor would i be excited to try again. Now next up is the ugly sweater pack for Christmas that i understand has a “nog seltzer” so guess we will take another one for the team and give them a try. Well Happy Holidays and i hope my review saved you $15.99 plus tax
